Lets hear it for the tigers!

There are so many sports teams and supporters in the world who feel that it is fitting to call their team THE TIGERS.
Would it not be a nice gesture for those teams, together with their supporters to do something about saving the tigers?

If such people do not do something fairly quickly, then they just might end up having an extinct animal as their mascot.

Do you support the tigers?

The last Bali tiger, a female was shot in Bali on 27 September 1937.
This was the smallest of the tigers with a body length of just 5ft - 153cm.

In 1977 i sat by the banks of the Caspian Sea to have breakfast,
little did i know then that around that time, the last Caspian tiger was shot.

In 1988 the last two Javan tigers left us.
The Javan tiger was a small tiger not much larger than the Bali tiger.

Approximate numbers of tigers remaining, and they are still killing them.

The remaining numbers for each kind of tiger will indicate the priorities of the countries concerned.
Youll note that each of those countries with very low tiger numbers do still manage to spend billions on weaponry.
It is a pity that just a little of that money could not be used to put aside some areas for tigers and spend money to protect them.
This effort would also protect the biodiversity that goes with the tigers.

For the childrens future in those countries such a small gesture would be a priceless gift.
